We’ve seen a lot of changes in Public Health since the 1970’s. This year’s forums explored where we’ve been, where we are today, and where we may be headed. They were thought-provoking conversations that sparked ideas among all of us about our commitment to public health.
All forums were held at the New Brighton Community Center, located at 400 10th St. NW in New Brighton. Breakfast and on-site registration began at 7:30am. Each forum started promptly at 8:00am and concluded at 9:30am.
Panelists and forum participants will explore progress in public health on efforts such as immunizations, housing and health access and our continued ability to respond to rapidly emerging health crises.
How have we been working? Videos
Our panelists and forum participants will explore ways to harness the ever-expanding sources for information and cross-organizational and community engagement.
In this forum we will address issues like training and mentoring the next generation, addressing the work-force challenges of brain-drain through career changes and retirements, and the emerging public health roles for community health workers and other professionals.
It will take all of us to advance public health. We will discuss the challenges of changing public health funding, political will, and societal values as we move forward.
