The Minnesota Public Health Association (MPHA) Rural Health Equity Project aims to strengthen MPHA’s relationships in rural Minnesota, determine potential areas of collaboration, and gain valuable insights to guide MPHA’s programming, policy and advocacy work to better support all public health workers in Minnesota. The goal of this work is to learn more about the experiences of public health workers specifically in the rural areas of Minnesota. Are you working in public health in a rural community? |
MPHA greatly subsidizes the attendee cost of the conference and relies upon sponsors to help keep the conference accessible and affordable for all who wish to attend.

The Minnesota Public Health Association (MPHA)’s Annual Conference will be held April 25 - 26, 2024 in-person at St. Catherine University in St. Paul, MN. A virtual component will also be available. The conference will run Thursday, April 25 from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm and on Friday, April 26 from 8 am - 2 pm.
The conference theme “Communicating and Navigating Public Health Intersections” will examine how public health professionals are acting on some of the most urgent challenges of our time. Public health is charged with making sure people can connect with the resources needed to be healthy. Successful messaging in public health requires voices and points of influence within communities. Without trusted messengers as experts in community spaces, our valuable public health messages will not be heard.
How do we navigate the intersections of evidence-based data and practice-based work with our values and ensure responsible communications? How can public health leaders be a better bridge between resources and their communities? How are we listening to, and identifying, unmet needs at local and state levels?
Join the MPHA 2024 Annual Conference to understand what is on the horizon for Minnesota, learn from each other, share our wisdom, and commit to bold action.
Upon conclusion of the conference, attendees will be able to:
