Save-the-Date: 2027 MPHA Annual Conference

Join the co-conference with the Minnesota Public Health Association and the Minnesota Oral Health Coalition on April 5 - 6, 2027, at the Plymouth Community Center.

This year’s theme, Our Next Chapter: Belonging and Building the Future of Public Health, invites attendees to explore solutions to strengthen our field, focusing on innovation, whole-person care, partnerships, and sustaining the public health workforce. Given the current state of health in our communities, what advances are happening in oral health and public health with inventive partnerships? Where are we empowered, and how do we translate this to whole-person integrated care? And how do we, as practitioners, sustain our purpose and foundation of the field?

Conference Objectives

Upon conclusion of the conference, attendees will be able to:

  1. Explore how oral health is an integral part of public health and whole-person well-being and identify opportunities to better integrate oral health into prevention, chronic disease management, community health, and public health initiatives.
  2. Examine how public health and oral health professionals are building innovative partnerships with nontraditional partners—including community organizations, housing, faith communities, cultural organizations, businesses, educators, technology partners, and people with lived experience—to address complex health needs.
  3. Identify the changes needed to create more adaptive, equitable, integrated, and sustainable public health and oral health systems.

Who Should Attend

The MPHA annual meeting brings together public health professionals at all stages of their careers—students, early/mid-career professionals, retired experts—alongside community leaders, elders, and faith-based groups from across Minnesota and beyond our state. This event fosters information exchange and collaboration to advance public health and build a healthier, more inclusive Minnesota. Dedicated public health professionals and engaged community members are invited to connect, share ideas, and gain valuable skills to support their work and communities.

The application will be made for public health nursing, social work, and CHES/MCHES/CPH continuing education credits.
