Upcoming Events

An Excerpt from the August 2021 Newsletter:

Your Membership & Communications Committee has been hard at work this summer creating programming for our organization. We have begun hosting monthly Intersectionality Conversations, a space for members and friends of MPHA to discuss identity-related topics pertaining to our work in public health. Our next Intersectionality Conversation will be held on August 26 from 2:00 - 2:30 PM and we would love for you to join us!

We also have begun monthly MPHey! Skills Sessions. These short, 30-minute sessions provide training on skills that are so essential to productive public health work but are usually not explicitly trained! We invite you to join us on August 3 from 11:30 AM - 12:00 PM for as short or long as you are able for this informal gathering.

Lastly, we have reinstated monthly Coffee Chats. While we get the opportunity to learn a lot from each other’s dedicated work and research, it’s important to connect as Minnesotans too. We provide a 30-minute space for connection with students, colleagues, professionals, and retirees with facilitation and prompts!

These events have attracted individuals from many sectors around a core value of ours: “to inspire effective public health leadership by offering opportunities for enhancing learning, skills, and practice.” These events are planned during our monthly Membership & Communications Committee meetings, which meet on the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 5:30 - 6:30 PM. We hope to see you there!

Delaine Anderson and Michelle Clegg
