BECOMING A BETTER WRITER:

HOW TO MAKE YOUR DOCUMENTS CLEAR, CONCISE AND COMPELLING

Through presentation, handouts, discussion, and exercises learn skills to reduce wordiness, to ensure correct spelling and punctuation, and to focus your message.

These skills will be useful for all your writing regardless of audience (co-workers, supervisor, senior management, governing board) or document type (email, memo, unit report, research or policy papers).

And you’ll leave the session with a packet of handy reference materials to use as you become a more effective writer valued in your organization.

Howard Schneider (BA, MA, and ABD) is a retired social scientist who worked for non-profits and county government. Numerous research, evaluation, and policy projects involved joint efforts with public health colleagues. Throughout his 35+ year career, Howard worked to be a better writer and encouraged others to do likewise.

Limited registration spots are available – register today to reserve your seat!

This free event is open to both MPHA members & nonmembers.

Light refreshments will be served.

Funding for this activity provided by an APHA National Public Health Week Grant
