2013-2014 MPHA "Public Health Matters" Policy Forum Series

A Community of Caregiving

 

March 7th, 2014… A Community of Caregiving: For Kinship and Grandparenting Roles


At this third forum panelists and participants will explore and discuss issues related to caregiving by relatives due to illness, death or incarceration.


John Finnegan, Dean, School of Public Health, University of Minnesota will moderate the forum.


Forum Panelists:

  • Priscilla Gibson-- from the U of M with a focus on grandmothers as caregivers
  • Janet Salo-- from Lutheran Social Services of Minnesota’s Raising Relative’s Children program
  • Rebecca Shlafer--from the U of M with a focus on incarcerated parents and their children

 

Breakfast and on-site registration begin at 7:00am. Each forum begins promptly at 7:30am and concludes at 9:00am.

 

All forums are held at the New Brighton Community Center, located at 400 10th St. NW in New Brighton.

 The cost of the forum is $8 for MPHA members, $15 for non-members and $5 for students.  Walk-ins are always welcome.
