Fifth Annual Minnesota Childhood Injury Summit

The fifth annual Childhood Injury Summit, September 19, 8:30 a.m. – 3:45 p.m., at the Como Park Visitor Center in St. Paul, will offer fresh perspectives and effective tools and strategies to help prevent unintentional injuries among Minnesota’s children. Presented by Safe Kids Minnesota, the Minnesota Safety Council and the Minnesota Department of Health, the event is designed for those involved in childhood injury prevention through public health and healthcare, public safety, not-for-profit organizations and any program with a focus on children.

 

Keynote speaker Torine Creppy, Chief Program Officer with Safe Kids Worldwide, Washington, D.C. will provide a national perspective. Other experts will discuss effective strategies for reaching parents and children, based on developmental levels; critical issues in cultural competence; tools for crafting effective injury prevention messages; proven best practices that can be replicated, and more.

 

Registration is $40 through September 6, and then increases to $50. It includes continental breakfast, lunch and refreshments throughout the day. Free parking is available adjacent to the conference site (Bullard Rainforest Auditorium in Como Park Visitor Center).
