This interactive training will equip you with the knowledge, hands-on experience and resources to speak and take action to protect your practice and your community against extreme heat.

  • Extreme Heat & Individual Health
  • Extreme Heat & Population Health
  • Policy & Community Engagement
  • Engagement & Communication Best Practices
  • Ways to Stay Engaged
  • Live, Virtual training: Public Health Actions for Extreme Heat Protections Training

Explain the health impacts of extreme heat by identifying its impacts and how it exacerbates existing health inequities.

Identify strategies to treat and mitigate heat-related illnesses in individuals.

Describe community-based strategies to increase protections against extreme heat, particularly for vulnerable populations.

Communicate effectively on extreme heat and health using evidence-based strategies.

Attendees will connect extreme heat to health outcomes and hear real-world examples of local heat protection initiatives. This training is accredited for three units of continuing education at NO COST for a variety of health professionals.
