You're Invited: Connection as a Form of Resistance - A Public Health Virtual Mixer
In the second MPHA Health Equity Committee virtual mixer of 2025, we will focus on connection as a form of resistance, and what that means for us, our communities, and the field of public health.
Join the meeting to help us find a sense of strength + flexibility that makes up resiliency in the body and mind; and find connection to community through networking, sharing insights and relationship building with other attendees. This will help us continue persisting and resisting now and in the days ahead.
WELCOME AND YOGA/MINDFULNESS
We will begin the meeting with a short and gentle session to experience embodied connection and resiliency. ERYT-500, Yoga Therapist Emily Kaspari will take us through a process of first connecting to the body through gentle stretches that can easily be done in any home or office space. This will prepare us to go more deeply into a guided meditation activity to connect to our inner spirit. She will then guide us back into the meeting fully ready to mentally connect to each other from a more authentic state than we may have been able to when we first arrived.
NETWORKING AND CONNECTION
We will have the opportunity to participate in small group discussions and have the chance to:

MPHA Health Equity Committee meetings are scheduled for the 3rd Thursday of the month from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Currently all meetings are virtual. Meetings are open to MPHA members and non-members who want to learn more and take action on advancing health equity in Minnesota.
