A post-conference event is being planned to mark the ten-year anniversary of the release of the Minnesota Department of Health’s groundbreaking 2014 “Advancing Health Equity in Minnesota: Report to the Legislature.” This report was unprecedented in the history of public health in Minnesota. It made it clear that structural racism was one of the impeding issues to advancing health equity in Minnesota and provided recommendations for moving forward in a positive direction

This event will provide an opportunity to hear about the history of the original report, discuss the impact of the report on individuals, organizations, and communities in Minnesota, and hear about future efforts. It’s an opportunity to connect and strengthen ties with a broad range of individuals from public health and community who are engaged in racial and health equity efforts in Minnesota.

This public in-person roundtable and webinar will take place on June 13, 2024 from 2:30 – 4:30 p.m CT. with a light reception to follow ending at 5:30 pm CT.

The event will take place at the East Side Neighborhood Services Inc, Loeffler Community Room, 1700 NE 2nd St, Minneapolis, MN 55413 and by Zoom.
