Please join us for "People Centered Advocacy: Understanding Roles & Maximizing Relationships", a virtual training with Anitra Cottledge, August 24, 2023, 12 - 1 pm CDT.

The second in this three-part session will engage participants in exploring five different pathways to advocacy, and demonstrate the power of relationships in changemaking.

During this session participants will:
1. Explore five different approaches to advocacy and changemaking
2. Identify key partners who can help support and amplify the work of MPHA
3. Learn about action strategies and next steps to strengthen advocacy efforts

This session will be recorded. This work is part of MPHA's 2023 racial and health equity work funded by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota.

About the presenter:

Headshot of a Black woman with short hair and glasses wearing a black and white graphic scarf with colorful artwork on the wall behind her.Anitra Cottledge (she/her) is the Director of the Women’s Center at the University of Minnesota (U of M), and previously served as the Director of Communications for the U of M Office for Equity & Diversity. She has over 20 years of experience in higher education, with expertise in the areas of intersectional women’s and gender equity; Black women’s administrative leadership; and DEIJ in organizational communications. A certified emotional intelligence practitioner, she also holds certificates in personal development coaching and community coaching for healing justice. Anitra earned her master’s degree from the University of Minnesota in educational policy and administration, and a B.A. in English from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
