The 2022 MPHA Annual Conference focuses on how we can learn from the lived experience of people in our community to take meaningful action to address public health needs. In that spirit, please join us for our two part series highlighting homelessness as a public health area requiring immediate attention in Minnesota.

Part II of the series, on May 16th from 9:30 am - 10:30 am, includes a panel session where we will hear from individuals who have a wealth of knowledge and direct experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness in Minnesota. Participants will learn about action steps they can take. The panelists will include leaders from Hennepin County’s Office to End Homelessness and Envision Community.

Please join us for a great two-part series that sheds light on a public health issue that often feels forgotten in the field of public health. Funds raised as part of this series will go towards supporting those with lived experiences of homelessness in our community.

About the Panelists

  • Deepa McGriff, MPH, Drug Overdose Epidemiologist at Minnesota Department of Health
  • Danielle Werder, MSW, Area Manager within Hennepin County's Office of Housing Stability
  • William E. Walsh, MD.

Who Should Attend?

Both sessions are intended for a wide range of people interested in addressing the health needs of unhoused people in our community, from students to established public health professionals. We encourage attendance at both events but it is not required.
